We are a community of people who prefer well-organized archival-quality music over the garbage commonly found on peer to peer networks.

We became sick of the swishy low-bitrate sound, of corrupted and incomplete MP3s, of audio with clicks and skips, and of the tags sometimes being so inconsistent and incorrect that they might as well not be, and sometimes weren't, there — and we decided to do something about it.

We created a definitive audio archive standard called the ÜberStandard which solves these problems once and for all.

We use Exact Audio Copy in secure mode for perfect extraction. We use the LAME MP3 encoder with the -V2 switch, which creates MP3s of a quality indistinguishable from the original CD. We name them correctly the first time so they can be easily organized. We are much happier with our "Über Music".
